Punisher: War ZoneCould it be that Marvel is finally going to get the Punisher right? This December, Punisher: War Zone blasts onto The Silver Screen with a new Frank Castle, Ray Stevenson (best known as Titus Pullo on HBO’s Rome), and a bonafide comic book villain, Jigsaw. The trailer looks great and will get you locked and loaded to head out the the theatre.

Who’ll Watch the Watchmen?

By Mack Richardson • Mon, Jul 21st 2008

While seeing The Dark Knight this weekend, I was completely blown away by the trailer for the upcoming Watchmen film. As much as I love Batman and Superman, I am SO glad to see DC finally give it’s other publications the big screen treatment. Watchmen lends itself to adaptation so well because the comic was paced and staged like a movie and if you have not read it….Shame on You! Go get a copy and read it.

Wonder Twins by Alex RossAs a child of the late ’70s, I can wax eloquent for hours about how awesome the Super Friends cartoon was. But I want to talk about the Super Friends’ apparent lack of judgement in who they let hang out in the Hall of Justice.

The Clone Wars Begin Aug 15th, 2008

By Mack Richardson • Tue, May 20th 2008

This isn’t strictly comic book related, but what can I say? I’m a geek for all seasons. I still don’t understand why Lucasfilm is revisiting the Clone Wars since the Cartoon Network animated series did an excellent job of telling us that story. However, the upcoming CGI animated series looks beautiful and may be taking a more “hard-nosed” look at Star Wars. Enjoy!

Action Comics #1 for FREE

By Mack Richardson • Mon, May 19th 2008

This weekend I purchased a copy of the DC Archives Superman, Volume 1 from a friend who is weeding his collection. As a longtime Superman fan, I hang my head in shame that it’s taken this long to add this beautiful volume to my bookshelf, but better late than never.

I re-read Superman’s inaugural issue, Action Comics #1 as soon as I got home. I had last read this seminal work in the mid-70s in a DC Famous 1st Edition oversized reprint. (NOTE: I still remember that oversized, golden covered masterpiece and miss it everyday.)
